“THE british LEFT”

“there’s no ‘LEFT’ left in Great Britain, as there’s obscurity to ascertain a figurative image of left-wing politics. The commencement soil is unable to grow the foundations that were grown up here. It is only left to discourses and debates”

the LEFT’s history

Left, particularly, pertaining to a political position which has been for long in Britain’s history since the very foundation of modern-day ‘Left-wing’ politics. In the mid 19th century, a period where left-wing parties were being created soon after another, even Karl Marx’s family, his daughter, son-in-law, and his close friends were the members of early days left-wing parties. Considerably, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels weren’t part of any party.

Modern-day ‘Left’, itself, emerged through the foundations of Karl Marx and all his writings were written in the British Empire. Thence, providing details, Left appeared through the soil of Great Britain.

Labour Party

The early left-wing party and still existing one, ‘Labour Party’ is more often defined and imaged as the British left politics with a vigorous, persistent, and union-based history. Labour Party is amongst the powerful largest existing political party dating back to the early 20th century. In terms of numbers, Labour Party consists of the foremost members and seats of any left-wing party. As it emerged as a union, by now, it transitioned from a trade union to a centre-left party.

Tho’ we have to draw a line between the past and present of any political party, its transitions and getting in the spectrum, in order to predict its outcome in future. Labour Party is no more the strongest left-wing party in Great Britain, it has lost its momentum after losing for the last three times from 2015. Conservative taking the lead for the last three times has set back the Labour Party, making it lose its whole image. The recent news we are hearing of Jeremy Corbyn making a new socialist party has already predicted the fall and dispersion of the Labour Party, as the young students no more consider themselves to be the representative of Labour Party’s image. However, I welcome the idea of Jeremy Corbyn making a new left-wing party, as Britons need a new emergence of the Left. Even Jeremy’s image was falling apart because of moving Labour Party’s ideology.

To conclude, Labour Party lost its likeness due to political correctitude and therefore the alliance of other small socialist parties.

There’s no ‘left’ left at all, or else I don’t consider

Though, the ‘real’ left-wing politics image is nowhere to see in Britain’s mainstream politics. Citing my own experience, putting and spending my time over the internet looking for any political party that represents the left image, I didn’t find any. It appears after the dissolution of the left-wing parties in order to facilitate votes for Jeremy Corbyn for electing him as the Prime Minister, no other left-wing party emerged.

To inline the explanations why there’s no ‘left’ left in Great Britain, the 2019 Elections cleared it by showing how the working-class don’t envisage to be represented by the ‘Left’. The division between newly emerged left-wing political party ‘Momentum’ — which emerged in 2015 — and Labour Party — as both parties suffered 2019 Elections loss — the real damage is both parties lost substantial numbers of working-class voters to the Conservatives.

The working-class no longer is being represented by Left-wing parties — a division has been created between the working-class and the leftist politicians — The left no longer speaks for the working class, rather speaks with the working class. Now ‘woke leftists’ simply reclassified them as not being working class. It is seen as the left-wing parties are utterly out of the touch with the actual working-class.

Often argumented by the ‘left’ or to place intimately, Ash Sarkar argumented, “We lose because of older people alliance towards right-wing parties as they aligned olden people towards national identity and immigration problems, however as they die off, young voters will elect leftist politicians.”

Much of the Election’s questions indeed revolve around national identity, culture and immigration problems, and these things, are often emotionally questioned by right-wingers and also the response is always sensational. Even it is true, the young voters tend to lean towards left-wing, but the argument feels like an absurdum. This frequently argumented argument is political insularity and narcissism pushed to its strangest limits. This argument presents as we are only a generational cycle off from woke geriatric socialists dominating our politics, however, that’s not the case. Argumented here, this study shows Britons tend to vote Conservative as they age.

On ground data facilitates, there’s different and many left-wing organizations, especially consisting of students and lots of academic intellectuals. But the ‘left’, a united, collective and union-based, is now dispersing. We see many academic intellectuals addressing multiple discourses, discussions and debates, but the ‘action’ is nowhere to see. The British left is simply left to discourses and debates, it has lost momentum. The dissolution and not reviving back has sent the ‘left’ out of the league. Leading conservatives, such as the Conservative Party, the British ‘left’ is looking for someone to back it, and revive the old British ‘left’ spirit, but as to conclude, the United Kingdom is out and away becoming just like its partner in crime, the United States of America. We do assume ‘left’ circulation over social media, and they highly present themselves as the active members of societal politics, but as I aforementioned, they are only left to internet trolls, debates, and discussions. Left by far is now a labelled woke academic intellectual who got no interest in active participation in politics.
